"As a devoted member of the Public Library Association, I have discovered a home with my peers. My journey from serving on PLA committees and advocating for expanding digital inclusion resources in libraries; to contributing to the PLA board not just once but for a second time, has instilled in me an unwavering belief in our mission and provided me with an insight as to what our public libraries need and are experiencing across our nation, small and large. As president-elect, I aspire to ensure that diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice remain at the core of our efforts and ensure we assist in navigating the challenges of intellectual freedom, funding issues, and the changing landscape of technology such as artificial intelligence. As the mission of the Public Library Association aims to enhance the development and effectiveness of library staff and services, I am deeply committed to advancing this cause and I want to amplify the voice of public librarians worldwide.
I plan to do this by always delivering on promises, ensuring fairness and opportunity for all, constantly seeking creative and groundbreaking solutions, inspiring through forward-thinking leadership, driving tangible impactful change forward, and building strong effective partnerships similar to my contributions to the national AT&T partnership where I helped to ensure over 150 rural and urban libraries received grants to help their communities in 2022 and over 200 libraries across 45 states to receive funding in 2023. Public libraries are many things to many people and I want to continue to help public libraries across our nation evolve while upholding our cherished values and be the beacon for future generations.
I thank you for your consideration as President-Elect of the Public Library Association."
